This half-day Volcano Adventure Tour highlights Hilo town and the world famous Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The tour starts with a cruise through Banyan Drive—known for its thick canopy of trees that were planted by famous athletes, movie stars, and political leaders, including President Franklin D. Roosevelt and George Herman “Babe” Ruth, and then takes in the beauty of Liliuokalani Gardens and Moku Ola, also known as Coconut Island. The tour then proceeds through historic Downtown Hilo on the way to the majestic Rainbow Falls before visiting the world famous Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, the sacred home of Pele, the volcano goddess, with stops at Jaggar Museum and then the Thurston Lava Tube for a short walk through a lush tropical rain forest filled with native Hawaiian birds. If time permits, a visit to the 1974 lava flow will be made. The tour continues with a snack break at Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory before returning to Hilo pier.
