Watch
a breathtaking sunset from the Summit of Mauna Kea 13,796
feet above sea level before stargazing at the 9,200
feet level at the Onizuka Center for International Astronomy.
Besides having the world's largest and most sophisticated
telescopes, the Summit of Mauna Kea is famous for its snow-capped
mountain tops during the winter months. Passengers are
strongly
encouraged to wear warm clothing, comfortable walking shoes,
and a jacket. Boxed dinner, bottled
water, cookies, telescope, use of jackets and gloves are provided.
Estimated time on tour: 8 to 9 hours. Pick-up times range
from 01:30 pm to 04:00 pm and drop-off times are between
09:00 pm and 11:00 pm, depending on the season. |
